Betsson Group will discontinue its B2C operations in the US, exiting Colorado by September 2024. Initially launched for B2B display, Betsson’s Betsafe app in Colorado was part of a broader strategy to gain insights into the US market. The company continues B2C operations in Ontario, Canada, and pursues global sponsorships.
Betsson Group has yet to pull out of B2C operations in the United States, setting a timeline of September 2024. The operator first dipped its toes into the US market with the Betsafe mobile sportsbook application, which operates in Colorado with the Dostal Alley Casino.
However, this has not always been the case, and Betsson has now clarified that it would like to leave the region. When the application was launched initially, Betsson referred to it as an essential segment of the firm’s B2B presence in the US.
Betsson recently issued a statement restating that the main reason for the launch was to provide its sportsbook platform for B2B clients, not as a B2C business model in the long run.
Betsson, though, has planned to exit the USA, but it has still been very strong in North America. The group began by launching Betsafe in the province of Ontario in February 2023, with numerous B2C propositions in place, such as sports betting and online casinos.
By the end of September 2024, Betsson Group has confirmed that it will cease business-to-consumer (B2C) operations in Colorado, USA.
A spokesperson for the company stated that Betsson will not offer any B2C services in the US for the foreseeable future. The spokesman continued that Colorado was launched as B2C to demonstrate Betsson’s own sports book for B2B sales and the feel of the market in the United States of America about online sports betting.
