Although Caesars is one of the most well-known casino brands worldwide, the company is stepping out with a host of big names as the Caesars sportsbook brings stars to their Super Bowl LVI ad.
Caesars confirmed this week that they would be running a 30-second advertisement for their sportsbook during Super Bowl LVI between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams.
The game will be held on February 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with the Caesars spot during the second quarter.
Chief marketing officer of Caesars Digital Sharon Otterman put together the star-studded cast for their ‘Caesars and Cleo’ campaign to blend their sportsbook and casino identity with the NFL.
Actor and comedian JB Smoove plays Caesar, with Halle Berry playing Cleo. The popular casino mainstays Caesar and Cleo are joined by some of perhaps the most well-known football families, the Manning’s – Peyton, Eli, Cooper, and Archie Manning.
While the Caesars brand goes hand in hand with casino gambling, their sportsbook doesn’t hold the same brand recognition as the company would like. Especially when the launch i.e. their rebranding of William Hill was met with considerable backlash.
Punters were put off by the rebranding campaign, commenting on the videos as being annoying and obnoxious.
Hopefully for Caesars, the new commercial is well received because the 30 second spot cost the company $6.5 million dollars. It’s hard to bet against Caesars Sportsbook now though because usually whatever Peyton Manning touches, turns to gold.
