Formerly signed a multi-year deal between the WNBA and DraftKings as one of the leading companies dealing with sports betting in the United States that was previously incorporated in both standard sports betting and in the field of fantasy sports. This will entail using the two verticals to expand fans’ interactiveness with the two partners.
This has pointed to DraftKings’ signing as the WNBA’s Official Sports Betting and Daily Fantasy Partner. Women’s sports, and the WNBA in particular, experience constant popularity growth, and the recent scandal and the corresponding fine have appeared in this context.
The press informed that the NBA officially agreed to have DraftKings as an Official Sports Betting Partner in 2021, which means this partnership was established a few years ago.
One of DraftKings’ representatives, Matt Kalish, the company’s President for North America, showed confidence in the potential synergy with one of the most significant global sports organizations.
He stressed that DraftKings must provide boosted and exciting WNBA content on its sites, saying that the main goal of this collaboration is to improve millions of people’s experience and interest in WNBA. Kalish emphasized that this partnership will prove to be highly useful for the next season.
Engagement has also been increasing, with special regard to sports betting, which has generated new interest in the WNBA. This partnership will result in better digital collaboration between DraftKings and the WNBA and more media portrayal.
Going forward, DraftKings will have access to league rights and team IP, enabling it to work on multiple initiatives, including marketing and activation campaigns, and to gain the upper hand for events like the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game.
DraftKings will be able to further improve the experience for league fans using its access to league data and feeds, offering them a more immersive experience, both in terms of viewership and similarly as part of betting and gambling contests. DraftKings is naturally dedicated to helping women’s sports have more of a profile.
WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison stated that the partnership with DraftKings will attract more fans to the WNBA by supporting women’s sports. She expressed excitement about collaborating with DraftKings to promote innovation and equity in women’s sports.
In addition to promising to support websites, maintain responsible gaming as a top priority, and expand the reach of its verticals and products, DraftKings has initiated several bold merger and acquisition initiatives. It first announced a $750 million deal for Jackpocket, and then there were rumors that it might be pursuing Simplebet, another betting platform.
