ESPN BET recently released a logo that shows its dedication to making its sports coverage and betting platform work better together.

ESPN BET’s Launch Date Confirmed as MGA CEO Resigns; Florida Approves Sports Betting

ESPN BET, the long-awaited sports betting brand from the same name network, will finally start airing on November 14 in 17 states in the United States. The company behind ESPN BET unveiled a logo earlier this year and said it wanted to make its sports coverage and betting platform work well together.

ESPN made a deal with Penn Entertainment to make sure their entry into the market would go smoothly. This gave them access to the platform that ran Barstool Sports and let them rebrand the sportsbook. ESPN is also changing the name of the popular show Daily Wager to ESPN BET Live and starting a campaign for ESPN BET Creative with SportsCenter host Scott Van Pelt.

Florida Approves Seminole Tribe’s In-Person Sports Betting, MGA CEO Set to Depart

Sports betting is a huge industry, and it’s not just limited to ESPN. The Seminole Tribe of Florida has declared that it will begin offering sports betting to residents of the Sunshine State beginning in December, per the terms of a compact signed with the state in 2021.

The Supreme Court’s recent ruling gives the compact the final approval it needs, paving the way for the tribe to launch in-person (and possibly mobile) sports betting across its properties in the state.

Meanwhile, MGA CEO Carl Brincat has announced his departure from his position as CEO of the Malta Gaming Authority effective January 25, 2024. The search for Brincat’s replacement has begun, and the chosen individual will spend two weeks with Brincat, if he is still employed there, shadowing him and learning the ropes.

Industry Highlights: UK Commission, Videoslots, DraftKings in Maine

The UK Gambling Commission recently announced the appointment of seven new commissioners. These individuals bring a wide range of experiences and expertise to the commission. The new commissioners have been brought in to aid the regulator in its efforts to improve responsible behaviour and keep a firm grasp on the regulated market.

Videoslots was fined SEK9 million by the Swedish gambling watchdog, Spelinspektionen, for failing to prevent money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism.

As sports betting is clearly in the spotlight this week, DraftKings has confirmed that it will be launching in Maine, which is rolling out its sports betting market at 9am on Friday, November 3. Even Caesars Sportsbook has announced they will be opening a shop in the state.

iGaming Partnerships Flourish; Entain PLC Welcomes Amanda Brown

When it comes to iGaming, there have been a few important supplier partnerships that stand out. One example is how Play’n GO got into the Greek online gambling market by making a deal with bet365. Both Play’n GO and bet365 want to grow their businesses in Europe and include more games. They also want their offerings to keep growing naturally. At the same time, Swintt, another great supplier with a history of strong growth, has grown its presence in the Netherlands with Circus.nl.

Amanda Brown has been officially named as an independent Non-Executive Director by Entain PLC. Barry Gibson, Chairman of Entain, has said that she is a great addition to the team and that she brings a lot of knowledge that can help guide the company in the right direction and keep it a leader in the entertainment industry.
