Fanatics and Make-A-Wish unite with a remarkable $10 million contribution, showcasing the power of sports as Aaron Judge, Tom Brady, and Jayson Tatum delight children in a heartwarming inaugural event in New York.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation and the digital sports platform Fanatics are joining forces. Fanatics is our first official sports partner. The company is starting the partnership by giving $10 million to Make-A-Wish and helping people make their wishes come true. Its co-brand, Fanatics Make-A-Wish, takes care of all sports-related wishes in the US.
Fans’ Chief People Officer, Orlando Ashford, said the partnership was a constant reminder of how powerful sports can be and how kids can heal by connecting with their favourite teams and sports heroes.
Fans will back wishes that ask for rookie drafts, meet-and-greets with athletes, championship games, and all-star weekends.
Ashford said that Fanatics has publicly supported Make-A-Wish and the good work it does for kids and their families for many years.
With more than 900 sports-related brands and contracts, Fanatics will be able to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation reach out to thousands of athletes and make wishes come true for kids.
Ashford said Fanatics teamed up with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL) in August to open a retail sports betting location next to the team’s home arena. It was good for both sides; it gave Fanatics another way to get into sports betting and gave the Blue Jackets a new way to connect with their fans.
The partnership between Fanatics and Make-A-Wish has already begun. On October 24, the company sponsored an event in New York. Surprisingly, nine Make-A-Wish kids were there. They included legendary quarterback Tom Brady, Aaron Judge, who currently plays for the New York Yankees and holds the American League record for most home runs in a single season, and Justin Tatum of the Boston Celtics.
Fanatics is an international digital sports platform that works with five major US professional sports leagues. These are the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS. Fanatics works with the PGA and NASCAR as well.
The sportsbook was also launched by Fanatics in August in four states: Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Tennessee. This came after six months of rigorous testing.
