FanDuel’s new initiative, “Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting,” aims to foster informed family discussions about gambling. Featuring Randy Livingston and Anita Smith, the program offers educational resources, highlights risks like underage gambling, and emphasizes responsible behavior. Partnering with Kindbridge, FanDuel expands support for those impacted by problem gambling.
FanDuel has introduced a new initiative called “Trusted Voices: “Start Talk: Gambling and Betting,” which aims to help families talk about betting, the related risks, and the need to have proper conversations.
This follows the beginning of Responsible Gaming Education Month, and former NBA player Randy Livingston and his wife, sports agent Anita Smith, are the new members of FanDuel’s Responsible Gaming Ambassador Program.
“Trusted Voices” includes a series of lessons and a video with Livingston, who shares the story about his experience of struggling with problem gambling. It also focuses on risks related to underage gambling and explains the importance of preventive family conversations on the topic of gambling.
Created in cooperation with Epic Global Solutions, the content focuses on adult behavior as responsible and addresses such practices as proxy betting, in which adults make bets for minors.
Through this initiative, FanDuel’s vision is to enable parents, guardians, and coaches to provide proper guidance on gambling instances so that the youths will be able to handle future risk factors associated with gambling.
Regarding FanDuel’s responsible gaming campaign, Randy Livingston and Anita Smith are part of the “Trusted Voices” program, which adds a more personal appeal to the program while offering resources specifically for parents, guardians, and coaches who want to recognize the signs of gambling addiction.
The program prepares them with the right tools, knowledge, and information necessary to influence youths in the prevention of gambling.
In addition to the “Trusted Voices” program, FanDuel is expanding its partnership with Kindbridge Behavioral Health to improve mental health support for platform users who decide to self-exclude.
This partnership extension demonstrates FanDuel’s socially responsible efforts to help problem gambling victims.
Alison Kutler, FanDuel’s Vice President of Responsible Gaming and Community Impact, is proud of having Livingston and Smith involved in the program, stating at the same time that their story is inspiring and they want to help people.
Kutler also highlighted the vision of FanDuel on how the company aims to raise new standards in responsible business conduct and shared enthusiasm of the two brands joining the Responsible Gaming Ambassador Program.
She stated, “Randy and Anita have an incredible story and a desire to help others, and we are excited to expand our advocacy program to raise awareness of the importance of having early and informed family conversations about gambling and the associated risks.”
