Gannett has teamed up with BetMGM in a multi-year deal establishing BetMGM as the preferred sportsbook for USA Today Sports. The collaboration will feature BetMGM’s sports betting data across Gannett’s vast network, reaching over 44 million fans, to boost audience engagement and content monetization.
US-based media conglomerate Gannett has revealed the signing of a multi-year agreement that will see BetMGM become USA Today Sports’ official online sports betting and gaming partner.
As was highlighted under this deal, BetMGM branding and sports betting information, such as odds, money lines, sports spreads, and over/under numbers, amongst others, will be featured across the USA Today Network’s over 200 local sites targeting 43 states across the United States.
The partnership with BetMGM, Gannett’s new strategic partner, promised to become very successful, according to the company’s Chairman and CEO, Michael Reed, as this sportsbook has an excellent reputation in the sports betting market. Reed said the partnership was a ‘reimagined relationship’ to bring betmgm’s reliable sports betting data to over 44 million sports enthusiasts of Gannett’s media outlets. He pointed out that the timing is crucial, especially at the beginning of the football season, thus leading to the ability to market to a potentially ‘excited’ fan base.
Reed also made a point to state that the acquisition of BetMGM as part of Gannett’s partners’ list will improve audience interest and revenue generation from content.
The partnership should also immediately benefit Gannett’s digital media properties by using BetMGM’s sports betting intelligence.
BetMGM has agreed to a new multi-year deal with Gannett, which extends its position as the official sportsbook and casino partner of USA Today Sports. In this partnership, BetMGM will access its sportsbook data, such as odds and information, on the USA Today Network’s vast platform.
BetMGM CEO, Adam Greenblatt showed interest in the deal, citing that Gannett has both local and national media outlets it could use to expand MGM’s Bet brand reach. Thus, Greenblatt highlighted that options and bets are delivered through Gannett’s most considerable reach, allowing BetMGM to reach many fans who will be informed and engaged with their favorite teams and sports. He said the cooperation is also timed to coincide with football season, which is now beginning.
As part of the agreement, BetMGM’s sportsbook and casino services will be featured throughout USA Today publications, including a ‘Bet Now’ feature that allows readers to place bets directly from the content.
In a related development, BetMGM has also secured a deal with the New York Jets as part of its ‘Kickoff With The Stars’ live dealer blackjack event, further expanding its reach in the sports betting landscape.
