Holland Casino has chosen Business Park Ter Borch in Groningen for its upcoming casino, set to open in 2027.
Holland Casino, the biggest gambling company in the Netherlands, said it has chosen land in Groningen for its new casino. The company confirmed that it chose Business Park Ter Borch, which is close to the municipality of Tynaarlo, as the site for its new venue. It is set to open to the public sometime in 2027.
The site was chosen because it was easy to get to and had room for construction. Those two things should help Holland Casino find the best way to build its new casino that meets sustainability standards and gives its guests exciting entertainment. The location was chosen well because it is close to the entrance to Groningen and there are lots of parking spots.
A member of Tynaarlo’s municipal spatial planning council, Jurryt Vellinga, talked about the great location Holland Casino chose for their new casino branch. The location makes sense because it’s easy to get to and there is plenty of room in the business park, he said. Vellinga also said that Holland Casino’s decision shows that the area is still a popular place for businesses. Lastly, he said that the new casino would bring in more tourists and give locals new job opportunities.
Petra de Ruiter, CEO of Holland Casino, said that the company was happy with the choice of the Groningen site for the casino and that they are excited to move forward with planning and construction as soon as the township’s support is confirmed. Ruiter is very excited for Holland Casino Groningen to finally open.
At the same time, Petra de Ruiter, CEO of Holland Casino, said that the company was happy with its choice of the Groningen casino site. She said that if the city shared Holland Casino’s excitement, the project could quickly move on to the planning and building stages. Ruiter was looking forward to this phase and stressed how great the new Holland Casino Groningen would be for both employees and visitors.
A fire destroyed the company’s building on Gedempte Kattendiep in Groningen in 2017. Holland has been running its business out of a temporary casino location since 2018. At that point, Ruiter thanked the cities of Tynaarlo and Groningen for working with the company to find a new destination.
