IGT, the software provider you know and love, announced that it will be acquiring fan-favorite iSoftBet.
That’s great news for everyone involved, giving fans of IGT-powered casinos a whopping 225 new games to enjoy, doubling IGT’s existing library.
That kind of high-level purchase doesn’t come for cheap: in fact, it cost a cool $160 million in cash for IGT.
But, in return, IGT will receive a world-less set of games to update its library with, which its players and casinos will surely be happy for, as well as a proprietary aggregation platform for third-party games.
With existing fan favorites including progressive jackpot slot Mega Jackpots, Lion Dance, 7s Wild and Treasure Box kingdom, the move expands the scope of what’s on offer to players, across not just casino gaming!
Vince Sadusky, CEO of IGT, was extremely positive about the move, not only for players and casinos, but it also represents a greater push into new territories for IGT: “This will enhance PlayDigital’s competitive capabilities with a proven, complementary content portfolio across Europe and North America as we provide best-in-class games and technology to our fast-growing iGaming customers”
Of course, a huge deal like this might not happen overnight, so hold your horses IGT and iDOftBNet fans! The acquisition will take some time to complete and both parties agree to close by the end of the second quarter – so expect more news about the finalization of the deal around June or July 2022!
