Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear hails the swift triumph of the state’s mobile sports betting market, with $68 million wagered in just four days. Beshear’s persistent advocacy has translated into impressive figures, including $66.5 million from mobile bets and over 300,000 opened accounts.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is celebrating the prosperity of the state’s mobile sports wagering market, verbalising that Kentuckians are “genuinely relishing” the incipient wagering option. In just four days, from Thursday to Sunday, a total of $68 million was wagered, with mobile sports wagering accounting for an impressive $66.5 million of that total. According to figures from the Governor’s office, more than 300,000 wagering accounts have been opened with licit mobile sportsbooks.
Governor Beshear has long championed the legalisation of sports wagering in Kentucky and expressed his gratification with the vigorous replication, accentuating that denizens have desired this option for a paramount period. He has consistently argued that sports wagering would engender crucial tax revenue for the state, and he reiterated that all the tax dollars engendered from sports wagering are staying in-state, benefiting sundry needs, including the pension system.
Beshear’s exuberance for sports wagering elongates beyond legislation, as he personally placed a $20 season-long parlay bet when the retail market launched last month, expressing optimism as Kentucky’s college football teams outperformed prospects. The Governor appears not only as a legislative advocate but as a hands-on participant in the state’s incipient sports wagering landscape.
