Sandy’s Racing and Gaming has opened in Eastern Kentucky, with Governor Andy Beshear attending the 75,000-square-foot facility’s opening event.

Sandy’s Racing & Gaming: Kentucky’s Thrilling New Entertainment Destination

Sandy’s Racing and Gaming has opened a new location in Eastern Kentucky. Governor Andy Beshear attended the 75,000-square-foot facility’s grand opening. In collaboration with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the Kentucky Quarter Horse Racing Association, Revolutionary Racing has invested $75 million in the venue.

There are 700 historical horse racing games, two performance stages, and a BetMGM Race & Sportsbook at the venue. On 182 acres behind Sandy’s, the project will include Kentucky’s only quarter-horse racetrack and an equestrian center. Track construction will begin in early 2024, with the first races scheduled to begin in 2025.

Sandy’s Racing & Gaming: A Game-Changer for Boyd County

Larry Lucas, the chairman of Revolutionary Racing Kentucky, stated in his statement, Last year, the commitment to bring a first-class facility to Boyd County was made. Today’s opening is proof of the fulfillment of the promises.

Sandy’s Racing & Gaming will bring top-tier racing, gaming, and entertainment to Northeastern Kentucky, creating numerous job opportunities for residents of Boyd County and the surrounding region, according to Governor Beshear. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and Revolutionary Racing deserve credit for establishing this vibrant destination.

Kentucky Sports Betting Hits $250M Mark Within First Month

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced that nearly $250 million has been wagered in Kentucky since sports betting became legal in the state last month. Kentucky’s sports betting market debuted in two stages. Retail sports betting began on September 7, followed by online sports betting on September 28.

Retail sports betting brought in $15.7 million, while mobile sports betting brought in $232.3 million. Since the market’s inception, 500,000 accounts have been created.
